Kim Delaney, an American actress, is best known for her character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. She is also known for her roles on the drama show All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney was the only girl of her homemaker mother and senior executive from the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood in the company of four brothers. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed about becoming a court reporter. The first time she began modeling was in highschool and eventually gained commercial opportunities when she relocated to New York. The role she was given was that of a young innocent in 1981's soap opera All My Children. Delaney an actress in her early years who was in her 20s, appeared in a variety of TV films and in dramas. Contrary to her impressive professional career, Delaney's personal life is not content and successful. There were two failed marriages, and has struggled with addiction issues. In 2005, the actress lost custody over her one son.
