Kim Delaney, an American actress, is best known for her character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. She is also known for her roles on the drama show All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney was the only girl of her homemaker mother and senior executive from the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood in the company of four brothers. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed about becoming a court reporter. The first time she began modeling was in highschool and eventually gained commercial opportunities when she relocated to New York.
