Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a diploma of English literature. Mitchell was hired by KYW Radio and TV as an Philadelphia reporter in 1967. She became a reporter for the CBS-affiliate WDVM-TV, (then WTOP) located which was based in Washington DC. A few years later, she was a general reporter for NBC News in Washington. From 1981 onwards she started reporting from the White House. In 1988 she became the the chief reporter for Congress. She was named the chief White House correspondent in 1992 as well as chief foreign correspondent of NBC News in 1994. Mitchell has appeared as a host and panelist in the TV news show Meet the Press. She was on the panel in the 1988 presidential debates with George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan a former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded in 2005 her Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism at The John F. Kennedy School of Government. Also in 2004, Radio-Television News Directors Association, (RTNDA), honored Mitchell for her contribution in the defense of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell reported on in the White House first for NBC News between the years 1981-88, which was during Ronald Reagan's two terms as president. The reporting she did included plenty of important stories like the Iran-contra affair, the tax and budget reforms in addition to the arms control. Mitchell traveled extensively along with President Reagan for summits along with Mikhail Gorbachev.
